Snow Crab
Fifty-six Island fishermen will be going for snow crab this season after winning the temporary permit lottery held recently by the P.E.I. Fishermen’s Association. Six hundred registered for the draw, which offers a limited number fishers each year a chance to take part in the lucrative snow crab fishery on a one-time-only basis. A total quota of five metric tonnes (11,020 pounds) will be available.
