Crabbers Presumed Dead

White Squall Engulfing Ship
The owner and three crew members of the fishing boat Ash were presumed dead as of Tuesday after four days of searching turned up only two empty survival suits, a life raft and boat debris. Large waves were blamed for capsizing and sinking the commercial fishing boat on Saturday as it was entering the sea from the mouth of the Rogue River to set crab pots. The search for boat owner Robert James Ashdown, 44, of Port Orford, and his three crew members was called off Tuesday. Crew members were Mark Daniel Wagner, 40, and Joshua William Northcutt, 30, both of Port Orford, and Louis Thomas Lobo, 39, of Las Vegas.
