Stone Crab Trap
A former Everglades City fisherman has been arrested in connection with what authorities are calling the biggest theft of crab traps in Florida history. Joseph Patrick Marcellino, 41, a former employee of City Seafood in Everglades City, was arrested Jan. 23 on charges of unlawful possession of three or more saltwater fisheries traps licensed in the name of another person. He also faces 24 counts of molesting a stone crab trap, line or buoy. Both charges are third-degree felonies, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
